Yu Zhu, the eldest daughter of a minor sixth-rank official, was selected and tossed into Prince Jin’s inner court to serve as a mere “practice target.”
Above her was the Princess Consort, a woman of noble birth, dignified and solemn. Beside her was the Side Consort, backed by a powerful family, beautiful and overbearing. Below her were the concubines, each with their own schemes, fighting a life-and-death struggle.

Later, Prince Jin ascended the throne. Yu Zhu waited to enter the palace, expecting to be granted the rank of a mere Concubine so she could continue laying low.
Instead, His Majesty took her hand, pulled her to his side, and proclaimed her the most noble woman of the six palaces.
